Emergency Dentist for Haverhill

woman in dental pain holding cheek You can’t predict when an emergency will strike. With that in mind, knowing where you can turn is vital for getting the help you need when you need it. At the dental practice of Karl Arakelian D.M.D., we pride ourselves on offering fast, attentive emergency care. In every case, our goal is to see you that same day whenever possible. Regardless of when we can see you, we’ll talk to you about your emergency when you call and offer tips for managing it until your appointment.

Some of the most common emergencies include:

Knocked Out Tooth

Under the right circumstances, a knocked-out tooth can be reattached. To increases your chances of a successful reattachment, call us immediately. Then, rinse your tooth and put it back in the socket it came from. If you are unable to place it, store your tooth in a bag or container of milk. We will do everything we can to see you quickly.

Broken or Fractured Tooth

In case of a broken or fractured tooth, rinse your mouth and apply a cold compress to the affected area. The cold compress will help you reduce swelling until we’re able to see you. Call our Bradford, MA office immediately to let us know about your emergency.

Knocked Out Temporary Crown

If you experience trouble with a temporary crown, you can reattach it with a small amount of toothpaste or denture adhesive. Keep in mind, this is only a short-term fix. Let us know about your situation and we’ll set aside time for you to come in so your temporary crown can be reattached by Dr. Arakelian.

Severe Toothache

Because toothaches can have different causes, we recommend flossing around the tooth that’s bothering you before giving us a call. If you’re unable to remove debris or your pain persists, notify us so we can schedule a time for you to come in.

Are you experiencing any of the above concerns? Don’t hesitate to contact us. For other emergencies—like a cut or bitten lip/tongue that won’t stop bleeding or a broken jaw—you should visit your local emergency room instead of coming to our office. If you have any doubts about what you should do, go ahead and get in touch with us, and we can advise you on what steps to take. We’re here for you when you need us.
